PFT
A Pulmonary Function Test (PFT) machine is a medical device used to measure how well the lungs work. It evaluates how much air a person can inhale and exhale, and how efficiently the lungs transfer oxygen into the blood. PFT machines are commonly used in hospitals, diagnostic centers, and respiratory clinics to diagnose and monitor conditions such as asthma, COPD, chronic bronchitis, and other lung disorders.
The system typically includes a spirometer, flow sensors, and software that analyzes breathing patterns in real time. By recording lung volumes, airflow rates, and respiratory mechanics, a PFT machine gives doctors clear insights into a patient’s lung capacity and overall respiratory health. These tests are non-invasive, quick, and essential for early detection and treatment planning. They also help track disease progression and evaluate how well treatments are working, making PFT testing a key part of modern respiratory care.
